Amazon Buyers Beware!

Buyer beware! I ordered these jewelry organizers on August 7th and they were supposed to be delivered by August 9th however the message is still saying that the shipping has been delayed. I tried to cancel the item but whomever the scam artist in China are that took my money and not send my package keeps denying my cancelation. I've contacted Amazon twice and all I receive on their end is gaslighting verbiage "like they will intercede on my behalf with the seller and keep me posted about shipping (lies). They can't do anything because it out of their area of expertise. One harpy had the nerves to pretend like the phone reception was bad because I asked her would I be receiving my money back if I don't get my item. At this point I am going to take the next formal step towards Amazon and it's now shady business due to them dealing with crappy outsourced businesses.

Locked Without Prior Warning

Today, I received an email stating that in order for me to continue using Kindle Direct Publishing services, I would have to verify my ID. I received this email today and my account was also locked today. I had received absolutely NO prior indication or warning of this occurring. Furthermore, I feel this is a violation of my rights and privacy. How do I know they won't keep and/or sell/exploit my id? What about the possibility of my info being hacked, leaked, or stolen? I don't trust the idea of giving out my id. It all seems corrupt. Furthermore, the fact that they could not have the decency to warn me prior to this is rather unprofessional and scummy. Update: Yesterday, I did give them my ID, however, they are now asking for a selfie/biometric data, which I am highly against. This is where I draw the line, and I feel that this goes against my rights, views, and beliefs. Nowhere in the previous email did it state that I also needed to include a selfie. I don't feel comfortable doing that. I didn't feel comfortable giving a copy of my driver's license. I feel that requiring biometric data is going too far, and it's where I draw the line. Furthermore, the fact that they could not bother to send any kind of prior warning shows a lack of transparency and autonomy. I also find this to be highly unprofessional. It also seems a bit deceitful on their part.

Amazon is greedy and has horrible business practices

Amazon changed their delivery date on a two day shipping item after my order was placed, even though I ordered it under the guarantee policy promised. As a result, my item came late and was not able to be used for which it was purchased. A supervisor, then promised to refund my item as an act of goodwill for my inconvenience. Amazon is now refusing to honor that promise as well, stating it was invalid, although acknowledging that they can see the promise was made. Horrible customer service, despite making billions of dollars off the customers that keep them in business.

Amazon FTC Retaliation

My problem with Amazon.com started recently, shortly after the FTC charged Amazon.com with criminal penalties resulting in the historic $1 billion consumer settlement fund for illegally enrolling consumers in their Amazon Prime service. I checked my payment history and my account qualified but because I did not receive the first round of payments between the October - December I had to wait till January 2026 when the second form opened. So I filled out and submitted FTC consumer claim form and submitted it to Amazon through the Amazon application and in less than 3 weeks later, I begin receiving emails from Amazon Account Services informing me that my account has been restricted to "digital purchases only" and there were four emails in total that were supposed to inform me about how and why my account has been restricted. The first email stated "We recently closed an account that belongs to you for violating our Returns and Refunds" policy and that's why we restricted your account. So I appealed the decision referencing my account has never been associated with any restricted account nor have I ever had any past accounts that were opened and were closed nor received any past violations. Then I received the second email changing the reason they initially stated they restricted my Amazon consumer account "Your account violated our Terms of Use" So I appealed decision asking why did they change it from closing an account I had in the past to "Terms of Use and asking which terms of use did I violate but they responded with we reserve the right not to disclose any information to you regarding our decision nor any proof. The Amazon Account Services team are acting in a malicious and corrupted manner becoming of federal civil violations and the people working in that department should be ashamed of the way they are earning money from this job, to feed their children and God isn't happy with that kind of money, that money has Satans' name written on it!

Fake CROCS delivered

Amazon to sell fake product. My belief in Amazon is shattered. I have been cheated. I will think twice/ thrice before buying anything from Amazon. I bought this product in May 2026 and since I was out of India for a couple of months, I wore it today for the first time and this is what happened. Please check the photos. Pathetic. Even my last purchase of Crocs was fake. The product tore within few usages

Can You Trust Amazon?

JJust like a butcher who puts his thumb on the scale or a used car dealer that rolls back the odometer, Amazon is engaging in similar unscrupulous bait-and-switch activities. Advertising products as new, only to ship inventory that is already two years old, is a violation of the implied warranty of merchantability under NY UCC § 2-314 and constitutes deceptive trade practices. I received two separate deliveries of 24 AAA PowerMax batteries, and both packages arrived two years past their manufacture date. Alkaline batteries that are two years old have only 80% of their 10-year guaranteed shelf life remaining and are considerably less powerful than fresh ones as they age. Always check manufacture dates. If you fall victim to this scam, exercise your rights by posting similar reviews, disputing charges with your bank, and reporting these illegal acts to your state's Attorney General's Consumer Frauds Bureau. As a journalist with over 50 years of experience and an Amazon Prime member for over a decade, it is my duty to report that I no longer trust Amazon. They encourage and conspire with sleazy vendors who foist old merchandise as new, prioritizing those ill-gotten revenues over their responsibility to their customers.

Amazon allows fraud by third-party sellers and fails to protect buyers

Purchased a Lenovo laptop for $2,427.70. Product page showed "Visit the Lenovo Store" with zero indication of a third-party seller. Laptop arrived from Montana Joe/Techdeals Brooklyn NY — pre-owned, fraudulently listed as new. Verified via Lenovo warranty activated 31 days before my purchase. Amazon had no fraud escalation process. Multiple buyers report identical fraud from this seller. Had to file FTC and IC3 reports to get traction.

Amazon closed account for no reason

Amazon closed my account for no reason and I now lost access to my purchases, Prime benefits, all my devices and all subscriptions. Was spending hundreds if not thousands a year since 2016. Spent hours on phone with them to no avail. Something happened lately at Amazon and it's bad. Even if you open a new account, the chat does not work anymore. Hello Walmart, Costco and others... you got me back as a customer.

Here is the proof that people are being blocked from using chat

After you click to try to use the chat option on amazon or in the app you get the error "Sorry looks like we hit a snag, chat is not available right now but we have other option for you"(first screenshot) and when you click on it it sends you to a page to enter your phone number to talk to someone on the phone. When I open the source page with all the page's code of the chat window error I can see that it is without a shadow of a doubt amazon responsible for blocking people from the chat. Second screenshot is the code line confirming this fact. The last time I was able to use the chat I had asked for a refund for the fake counterfit item (amazon sold and shipped) they sent to me. I was unnecessarily transferred to a "member of the leadership team" named Meghna. We all need to put our blocked chat encounters up here and trust pilot with the name of the amazon employee responsible so we can shed light on and make it known the shady things amazon employees do to their customers out of retaliation.

Amazon Subscription Failure

Despite cancelling my subscription, Amazon is still charging me a monthly fee for 4 months now. I have found it difficult to: 1. Find the Amazon screen and prompts to speak with a person, not AI assistance 2: Find access to a customer care email (still can't find one) 3: Follow up on my reported complaint as I have received no communication despite Amazon promising it would be resolved (twice now) 4: Proide a bad review on Amazon within their own site, you can only rate products purchased or do an internal complaint.
